Homeschool Information

Homeschool students in grades 9-12 can apply to participate in athletics at a public school. The eligibility of these students must be verified prior to the first day of practice of the sports' season. It is the parent and student responsibility to submit a current transcript and schedule/proof of enrollment to the JDHS Activities to verify eligibility.

Steps for anyone wishing to participate in JSD activities at the high school level but is enrolled in a homeschool program needs to complete the following steps before being cleared to participate in JDHS Activities:

  1. Transcripts and proof of enrollment submitted to activities office
  2. All registration and requirements are completed on Planet HS (planeths.com) and verified by activities office including a current physical exam uploaded to the participant’s account
  3. Alternative Education Participation form completed
  4. JSD Alternative Education Participation fee of $300 paid to activities office has been collected

GENERAL INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Juneau Teen Health Center will be offering FREE Sports Physicals to student athletes! Appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling the Teen Health Center at 523-1634.

Physicals are valid for 18 months. Free sports physicals may be obtained through our Teen Health Center. Other options include your personal Physician, Juneau Urgent Care, and the Zach Gordon Youth Center. juneauteenhealthcenter.weebly.com

ProActive Coaching Training

JSD will be holding ProActive Coaching workshops in August. ProActive Coaching “works with coaches and teams to help intentionally create character-based team cultures, provide a blueprint for team leadership, develop confident, tough-minded, fearless competitors, and train coaches for excellence and significance.” The session schedule will be as follows:
