JDHS PARENT GROUP meets on the last Thursday at noon in the upstairs library.  All parents are warmly invited.   Parent Group Minutes are sent out on the JDHS_Parent Group list and will be posted online.  Please check online at www.jdhs.juneauschools.org/parents-c8377583/parent-group-page-17f72bbc to review them.  The Parent Group provides monthly Student Recognition Lunch for students (who are nominated by teachers for doing something special at JDHS) and their parents.  Donations of food, assistance and/or funds are sought each month for the lunch -- if you can help with food or funds, please be in touch with Lisa Baker in the Main Office.

JDHS SITE COUNCIL meets on the first Monday of the month at 5 pm in the JDHS library.  It is made up of parents, teachers, support staff, students, and community members.  All Site Council  http://jdhs.juneauschools.org/parents-c8377583/site-council-page-8dba00b7 meetings are open to the public.  For more information see:

The JDHS Parent E-Group egroup shares information with parents about Parent Discussion Groups, volunteer opportunities, and other important happenings.   The JDHS Daily Bulletin is sent out through this list.  Membership is open to everyone. This is a parent/volunteer sponsored list to provide a location for parents to share information about parent sponsored events that the school does not advertise due to liability, such as Safe Graduation, Baccalaureate, and an After-Prom party.

To join the list, send a blank message to: JDHS_Parents-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
To leave the list, send a blank message to:  JDHS_Parents-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
(You can join and leave at your choice and as frequently as needed.  For instance, you can unsubscribe whenever you go out of town.)

Messages can only be posted by the moderator, and need to be of general interest to parents and of a non-commercial nature.  Message must relate to JDHS and be relevant to JDHS families. They can be submitted for review by sending them to jdhs_parents@yahoogroups.com or by selecting "Messages - Post" from YAHOO Groups. You will see your message posted after it has been manually approved by a moderator.  The JDHS_Parent website is located at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JDHS_Parents/

THE JUNEAU-DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL WEB PAGE
is located at http://jdhs.juneauschools.org/.  From there you can link to staff contact info, counseling and career information, a calendar and more!

POWERSCHOOL ACCESS:  You can follow your student's grades and attendance online on Power School at https://ps.juneauschools.org/public/ Contact Barbara Kelly at 523-1613 or barbara.kelly@juneauschools.org if you need help.  PowerSchool is web-based in real time so you see everything that has been entered up to that minute.  Please note that anything in blue is a link.  For instance, if you click on a blue attendance total you will see a breakdown of periods missed and the reason.  If you click on a grade in blue you will see a list of individual assignments and the grades for each one.  You can also look for missing assignments.

SchoolBlocks offers a unique and powerful personalized search system. A member of the public, searching for "homework" might see an announcement from the school as the first result. However, if the user is logged in, they would see their teacher’s latest homework assignment as the top result.
