ALASKA PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIP: Go to www.APS.alaska.gov to sign up for updates on the Alaska Performance Scholarship Program (also known as the Governor's Performance Scholarship). Proposed by the Parnell Administration and approved by the Alaska Legislature, the Alaska Performance Scholarship was created in 2010 as an invitation to excellence, extended to Alaska students and schools.

MeritAid: is the first comprehensive Web site dedicated to helping students with the college search by matching them to merit-based scholarships from colleges across the country. $11 billion in merit scholarships from colleges just waiting to be awarded. Merit aid is awarded to students with a broad range of GPAs. There are merit aid scholarships for students based on their interests, their intended majors, leadership and communitiy service. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): The FAFSA is the first and most important step for federal, state, and even some private financial aid. To apply for federal student aid for college or career school and for most state and institutional aid, you must complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year that you attend. The quickest way to apply is online using FAFSA on the web www.FAFSA.ed.gov.

FAFSA4CASTER: is a federal aid estimator that you can use before officially applying for aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA4CASTER, will provide you with an estimate of your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is an index that colleges use to determine what types of student aid you may receive. Fastweb: One of the largest scholarship search sites available, this FREE service easily matches students with scholarships that meet their needs. With roughly 1.5 million scholarships worth over $3.4 billion, there are scholarships for every student’s educational goals, activities and interests. Go to www.fastweb.com

UA Scholars: Each year the University of Alaska allows each school to submit the top ten percent of its senior class for the University Scholars Program. GPA from
the sixth semester of high school is the basis for submissions. Names are compiled each fall and submitted. Go to www.alaska.edu/scholars
